A Christmas Message from Donnie, Christmas 2020

Burris Team,

Well, we made it through the year! What an absolutely incredible job you all have done.

We have consistently delivered “WOW Service” to our customers through our Make It Happen attitude…perfecting what we do by focusing on “Get It Right”…making each day a little better than the day before.

Warren Buffet used a phrase that I really like, “It takes 20 years to develop a reputation and 5 minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently.” This quote is why we have “I Am Burris”…we are in this business for the long-haul…Our reputation matters! To our customers, suppliers, shippers, carriers and vendors, you are Burris…you shape their perception of who we are and how we do business. You help them determine whether or not they want to keep doing business with us. What you do matters in a Big way!

Our goal is to be the best at what we do…not the biggest. We want our customers to trust both our character and our competence. We want to make the lives of our customers easier and for their businesses to be more successful because they are served by Burris. The better we do this, the better we all will do! To be the best, we must continue pulling together across business units, facilities and departments as one team…having each other’s backs and helping each other succeed. This is OneBurris!

I am so proud of all 2100 of us! I am here to support you and I truly thank you for all that you have done to get us through this past year.

At Burris University each year, I tell the team that in spite of all the focus on how to strengthen and grow our business and our culture, at the end of this life it’s important to remember that none of us (even me!) will be saying, “I wish we could have shipped another 100,000 cases” or made a little more money, etc. There are many things in life that are far more important than careers and business…family being one them. We care about you, if you are going through a particularly difficult time with all that has occurred this year, know that your Burris Family is here for you…you are not alone! Reach out to your HR team.

Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,
